Shawn joined our team in 2014. Under his leadership, our Service Department has consistently received the highest CSI scores from our customers, ranking among the top Volvo dealerships in the country! In 2021, Shawn was promoted from Service Manager to Vice President & Fixed Operations Director.
Shawn’s grandfather was Herb Brown, the original owner of our Charlottesville Volvo dealership. Shawn even celebrated his 2nd birthday in the old showroom on Ivy Road! As he grew up, his interest in Volvo never faded. He worked in Volvo parts & service departments for many years before joining CMA, and in January 2023 Shawn was promoted to General Manager. When he isn’t working, Shawn loves spending time with his wife and two children, Beau and Lillie Pearl.
Brian has been here since 2000 and is an ASE Advanced Level Specialist & Expert Volvo Technician. He is a graduate of the Nashville Auto Diesel College and CATEC. He currently lives in Afton with his wife, Lauren and their two children. Brian drives a Volvo 850 Turbo.
Richard came to CMA’s Volvo Cars of Charlottesville in 2009 after working at our sister store, CMA’s Colonial Auto Center, for a number of years. He is retired from the US Postal Service and is an avid runner and cyclist. You will often see him working out at ACAC or walking the Monticello Trail with his wife, Linda.
Dave has been a lead technician at this Volvo store since 1985. He is an Expert Level Volvo Technician and an ASE Advanced Level Specialist. Everyone in Dave’s family drives Volvos including his children and his parents. There is no one in Central Virginia who knows more about the inner-workings of a Volvo!
Liza is President & CEO of Carter Myers Automotive, her family’s business that has been serving Central Virginia’s car needs since 1924. She is the 4th generation of the Myers family and the first woman to run the company. Liza grew up in Charlottesville, graduated from UVA, and has been back in town since she purchased CMA’s Volvo Cars of Charlottesville in 2003. She and her husband, Pete, have two very active children. Liza is committed to sustainability and loves the all-electric Volvo XC40 Recharge.
